Neucom’s core business is industrial (or work-related) accident investigation and we have a wealth of multi-sector, international experience in that field. From our headquarters in England, we assist Organisations worldwide with the management and/or investigation, analysis and remediation of industrial accidents and the training and/or coaching of in-house accident investigators.
Trading as VIS in the 1980s, we were engaged as construction equipment and transport consultants and were also independent examining engineers to the Royal Automobile Club. In our investigative capacity, we were originally focused on plant and transport accidents but moved gradually into the industrial field and (trading now as Difford HSA) also provided advice on health, safety and environmental matters.
In 2004, Neucom was formed and incorporated and we continue today to be dedicated to the investigation and analysis of work-related accidents and the training of accident investigators. In the same year, our principal investigator and senior consultant (Paul Difford) was appointed Director of Research & Development at the Institute of Industrial Accident Investigators (IIAI).
In 2009, Paul’s contributions to accident investigation and safety were recognised when he was made an Honorary Fellow of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (left in picture below).
Whilst investigation is the core activity, our specialist training division is a renowned developer and provider of accident investigation courses and is also an IIAI Approved International Training Centre. Appointed by the Institute of Industrial Accident Investigators to be the sole provider of higher level award courses to its membership, Neucom is also entrusted to manage the IIAI’s Approved Centre and Instructor Licensing processes.
Other Organisations that trust our training expertise include BBC, Royal Mail, Transport for London, Royal Navy, Stirling Council, Hampshire Council, Prosafe Production, BW Offshore, Babcock International and Babcock Rail, BAE Systems and numerous high profile engineering and construction companies. Further afield, we assist Organisations such as BAE Systems Saudi Arabia, Almarai and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
To find out more, please look around the site and be sure to look in now and again on the reading rooms (relaunching March 2020). You may need to be an IIAI member to access certain areas but joining the Institute is relatively straight-forward and an Assisted Election scheme is also in place for those wishing to become IIAI Full Members (MIIAI) based on prior experience. Alternatively, please contact Neucom for a paid annual subscription to the resource areas.
